it was so sad to hear of Simon's death and we wish we could have been there on Tuesday to celebrate his life. We have fond memories of Simon and Mandy as neighbours when Sol Bella and Benny were so young and of course years of working with Simon and SOHP. Simon was one of the likeable and approachable people I worked with in my years in Sheffield. When someone writes a history of public health in Sheffield, Simon's name will be up there as someone whose expertise and knowledge commanded respect and his quiet and methodical approach progressed the agenda of fairness and justice for the workforce in the city and beyond. One learnt so much in his company and I hope the city remembers one of its greatest advocates for health. He was simply a good person. Our thoughts are with Mandy and the family Steve and Teresa Pintus
